Role Summary

The People and Culture Manager at Greentank plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging workplace environment. This individual oversees a wide range of administrative and operational functions, supporting both employees and external stakeholders. The role requires a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and a deep commitment to enhancing office culture and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for junior to mid-level positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions to attract top talent.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees.

Employee Engagement

  • Take ownership of all employee event planning, from initial concept development through execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance overall office happiness, engagement, and employee satisfaction.
  • Conduct employee surveys and work with the Director of People and Culture to analyze the results, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans.

HR Projects

  • Assist in various projects assigned by the Director of People & Culture, contributing to departmental objectives and initiatives.
  • Support training and development initiatives, including scheduling sessions, coordinating logistics, and tracking participation and outcomes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Employee Services

  • Administer employee benefits programs, providing guidance and support to employees on benefit options and inquiries.
  • Administer Greentank's HRIS, providing guidance and support to employees.
  • Administer Greentank's employee development platform, providing guidance and support to employees
  • Provide general employee support, addressing inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and the outsourced IT company, providing general support with IT-related issues and software.

Health & Safety

  • Participate as secretary and note-taker in the monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings.
  • Conduct health and safety talks on a quarterly basis, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives to promote a safe workplace environment.

Others

  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness and success of the People and Culture team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR to continuously improve the function.
  • Ensure adequate stock of office supplies, snacks, and beverages, managing inventory levels and replenishment processes.
  • Coordinate the boardroom booking system to optimize space utilization and meeting efficiency.
  • Work with the Facilities Manager in maintaining and improving office infrastructure when needed.

Requirements

Formal Education or Equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources is mandatory.

Years of Experience

  • Proven experience (4 years of experience) in a similar role, demonstrating progressive responsibility and success
    in HR functions.

Specialized skills, knowledge, or certifications unique to this role

  • Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including OHSA and ESA, ensuring compliance with labor laws and workplace safety standards
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant HR software to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Strong experience in developing and implementing HR processes to enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team to achieve HR and business objectives
