About the Opportunity
The Manager, Real Estate Facilities & Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning and strategic alignment of UJAs real estate portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President, Real Estate & Facilities, this role focuses on maintaining safe, secure, and high-quality facilities while driving operational excellence and supporting long-term organizational goals. The position involves overseeing property maintenance, managing renovation and construction projects, coordinating with tenants, and ensuring compliance with budgets and timelines. As a key contributor to UJAs mission, the Manager will work closely with internal teams and external partners to uphold the organizations standards and deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the maintenance and operations of specific UJA-owned properties, ensuring safety, security, and functionality.
Coordinate with third-party facilities management teams to implement asset management strategies.
Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
With the third-party Project Manager, assist with renovation and reorganization projects, including budgeting, schedules, and workflows.
Supervise external suppliers to maintain quality control and adherence to timelines.
Process invoices, monitor budgets, and prepare financial documentation for capital projects.
Act as a contact for tenant coordination and ensure a seamless communication process.
Manage communication needs for lay committees.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including electronic and paper files.
Prepare professional reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the acquisition of furnishings and equipment for facilities.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience in real estate, facilities management, or real estate operations.
Post-secondary education in a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
In-depth knowledge of design and construction processes, including municipal and trade structures.
Proven track record in managing large-scale renovation or construction projects.
A driver's license and access to a car are required.
