Job Overview

The Knowledge Analyst is responsible for documenting and supporting Information Technology (IT) policies, processes, and procedures to mitigate IT risks and achieve compliance objectives. The Knowledge Analyst will review, update, and organize existing documentation related to IT Governance in alignment with the organization's regulatory requirements as well as ISO 27001 guidelines.

Role

  • Work with stakeholders to translate technical content into easy to consume user documentation
  • Be a highly organized individual with excellent time management skills who can handle deadlines and unplanned requests for quick action or response.
  • Establish relationships with staff to promote awareness of Knowledge Management initiatives
  • Assist with interviews and assessments to enhance and deliver systems related tools and technologies, including developing new procedures for electronic records, data, and digital information
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates to align with standards
  • Collect, organize, write, edit, and publish documentation for Knowledge Repositories
  • Perform scheduled reviews to evaluate existing documentation, audit findings and risk treatment plans to make recommendations for improvements to our documentation
  • Coordinate and implement quality-control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of documentation, including peer and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification
  • Ensure documentation complies with all applicable specifications, standards
  • Define, document, and monitor baseline Knowledge Management performance metrics and key performance indicators
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Skills

  • Have a University degree/College diploma related to Information Technology or Business Process Management
  • Two (2) years' experience within an IT related field (experience in financial institutions preferred)
  • Have previous experience developing, editing, process, procedures, guidelines, or training aids through the lifecycle of the documentation
  • Previous experience working with content or document management systems such as SharePoint
  • Possess exceptional analytical skills and the curiosity to solve complex problems
  • Be approachable with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy
  • Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
  • Be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as the job demands and travel as required
  • Foundational knowledge of ISO 27001 preferred
  • ITIL certification preferred
