Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Team Lead or Senior Steel Stud Framer to oversee and manage framing projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, in-depth knowledge of steel stud framing, and the ability to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires effective coordination with team members, subcontractors, and project managers to maintain timelines and budgets while delivering top-tier workmanship.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
Survey building locations and levels
Instruct apprentices
Supervise other workers
Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
