POSITION SUMMARY: As a Grinder/Trimmer, you'll play a key role in shaping and perfecting fiberglass parts, using hand tools to smooth rough edges and make precision cuts

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Smooth Surfaces: Use sanding and grinding tools to make fiberglass parts smooth and even.
  • Precision Cutting: Trim parts with accuracy to achieve uniform thickness.
  • Finish and Shape: Follow instructions to trim, drill, route, and grind parts
  • Read Blueprints: Understand blueprints to complete parts according to specific dimensions.
  • Mark with Accuracy: Use guides (Jigs) to mark parts correctly for the next production steps.
  • Tool Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in acceptable condition for safe, effective use.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensions.
  • Stay Organized: Support Lean and 5S initiatives to keep the workspace organized.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Composite & Fiberglass Experience (Preferred) – Experience working with composites, fiberglass, sanding, or grinding tools is a plus, but not required.
  • Hands-On Skills – Comfortable using basic tools, with training provided for pneumatic, electric, and manual hand tools.
  • Attention to Detail – Takes pride in producing high-quality parts by following instructions carefully.
  • Team Player – Works well with others to meet production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Reliable & Independent – Shows up on time, follows directions, and takes initiative when needed.
  • Physical Readiness – Able to stand for long periods and lift 20–50 lbs as needed.
