Regional Fertility Program (RFP) is a leading fertility clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered reproductive care. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to support individuals and families on their fertility journey. We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team and play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Position SummaryAs a Nurse Practitioner, you will assist physicians in delivering primary care to fertility patients, following established standards and best practices. Your expertise will be essential in performing diagnostic procedures, providing patient counseling, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support individuals undergoing fertility treatments.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical assessments.
- Interpret patient data and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Provide follow-up care for patients with repeat pregnancy loss.
- Manage new consultations for short-notice oncology fertility patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, bloodwork (pre- and post-NPC), and laboratory results.
- Perform intrauterine inseminations (IUIs) when required.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop patient-centered treatment plans.
- Provide counseling and education on reproductive health, fertility treatments, and post-treatment care.
- Monitor early pregnancies via ultrasonography and laboratory values.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely follow-up on tests and lab results.
- Assist in the creation of referral letters and insurance documentation.
- Attend New Patient Consult (NPC) sessions and conduct third-party physical assessments.
- Provide physician coverage during absences.
- Participate in professional development and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and uphold patient privacy regulations.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Perform procedures within the NP scope of practice.
- Triage patient calls and provide consultations as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with registration in the relevant provincial nursing college.
- Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program, with a preference for specialization in women's health.
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in women's health or OBGYN clinic.
- CPR/ACLS/BCLS certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical safety protocols, and patient care policies.
- Proficiency in medical equipment use and interpretation of medical histories.
- Leadership skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other office software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
