Agency Relations Assistant

We lead our agency network to realize a food-secure Mississauga by providing and promoting access to healthy and appropriate food.
We are looking for two separate summer placements for the Agency Relations Assistant role.
Job Purpose
- Put your theoretical knowledge in social sciences, research, data collection and data analysis into action in a busy non-profit. Use the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced non-profit professionals.
- Be part of Food Banks Mississaugas Annual Food Bank Visitor Survey 2025. Collect data and feedback from food bank visitors, analyze the data collected, and identify areas of impact and opportunities for improvement and growth.
Key Performance Areas
Survey design and planning (20%)
- Review and get familiar with the survey tool.
- Transcribe the survey tool onto a tech-enabled data collection platform.
- Support with designing the schedule for onsite and telephone data collection.
Data collection (20%)
- Collect data through telephone interviews with food bank visitors using a structured survey.
- Visit select agencies within Food Banks Mississaugas network to conduct in-person data collection.
Volunteer coordination (25%)
- Conduct training for volunteers on the survey tool and on data collection methods and practices.
- Develop and keep track of volunteer data collection schedules and make adjustments as needed.
- Keep track of the progress and completion rates in the data collection process.
Data analysis and reporting (25%)
- Analyze survey data collected and prepare final reports.
- Use findings to make data-informed recommendations for program improvement and growth through reports and key highlight presentations.
- Present key findings and recommendations in Food Banks Mississaugas inter-departmental meeting.
Other tasks (10%)
- Support staff with administrative tasks related to new or ongoing initiatives.
Education and Experience
- A post-secondary student with a focus on social work, social service work, community service work, or other related educational and work experiences.
- Experience in frontline volunteering or work in the social services sector is an asset.

- Technical. Excellent skills in MS Office and/or Google Apps for business; experience with Human Resources Information Systems. Ability to learn new systems quickly. FBM is a cloud-based, paperless environment

Mandatory Qualifications
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.

Role Details
Relationships: This position reports to the Agency Network Data Specialist and includes frequent interaction with food bank visitors, Food Banks Mississaugas agency network, and external organizations providing community support.
Position Type: 35 hours/week, hourly
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00am - 5:00pmWednesday from 9:00am - 8:00pm
Compensation: $26.00/hour
Environment: This role is based from FBM, located at 4544 Eastgate Parkway, Mississauga ON. It will include travel within Mississauga to other food banks. Hybrid work option is available.
