Salary: $130,000 - $160,000

YOUR FUTURE ROLE:

If you have a depth of experience and knowledge in the Hydrovac industry and you an entrepreneur by nature then this is your role.

The General Manager of Vacterra is responsible for overseeing the Hydrovac fleet and processing plant, including operations, sales, and business expansion. This role is responsible for overall business growth and health with a focus on business development, client relationships, procurement, sales, profitability, and team management, ensuring the fleet and processing plant runs efficiently and meets all goals and budgets.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to drive growth, including:
    • Identifying opportunities for expansion:
      • New services and offerings
      • Additional facilities and locations
    • Building and maintaining strong client and partner relationships
    • Oversee contract management, including securing new contracts, reviewing terms, and ensuring successful execution
  • Drive profitability by working closely with Finance to meet and exceed revenue and budget goals:
    • Setting and achieving revenue targets
    • Managing and analyzing monthly financials
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and foster positive working relationships with customers and colleagues, representing Horizon with professionalism and integrity

Digitalization & Automation Focus:

  • Champion, implement and ensure adherence to digitalization of the business unit.
  • Create automation and digital processes that are enacted by the team

Functional Business Leadership

  • Leads and ensures team adherence to regular meeting structures, 1:1s, team meetings, Annual strategic business planning, monthly financial reviews

Financial & Operational Planning

  • Lead financial and operational planning efforts to optimize efficiency and profitability, including:
    • Reviewing ticket and load documentation for accuracy and compliance
    • Spearheading sales strategies and revenue projections
      o Monitoring daily loads to ensure targets are met
      o Achieves targeted billable hours for Hydrovac Trucks
      o Driving sales of recycled products and services
  • Define and track key performance metrics to support informed decision-making:
    • Develop and maintain a system for monitoring KPIs and equipment utilization

Fleet, Procurement & Facilities

  • Fleet and Procurement:
    • Overseeing sourcing of tools, equipment, and facilities as required
  • Oversee & management of the dispatching and scheduling of Hyrdovac fleet and operators.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the department, setting clear goals and ensuring accountability
  • Support continuous improvement by actively participating in training and performance reviews
  • Foster professional growth by pursuing ongoing education and development opportunities sponsored by the Company

Safety Program

  • Drives all aspects of the Safety Program through education, training & communication:
    • Overseeing completion of required safety documentation, including inspections, checklists, and toolbox talks as required
  • Ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures

EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Project Management

EXPERIENCE
10+ years in a Leadership & Business management role
Hydrovac experience and / or processing plant experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work with people in a variety of circumstances and from various backgrounds.
Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
Proficient administrative and technical skills with a digital mindset
Proficient in technology with a forward-thinking approach
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and thorough in an approach to work
Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze data effectively
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Ability to plan, prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines efficiently
Effective time management and self-management skills
Adaptability in a role requiring timely responses and flexibility
Ability to foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment
Experience with Hydrovac trucks is essential
Experience with materials processing is essential


WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:


Total compensation package of $130,000-160,000 annually based on previous experience
15 days vacation, 5 personal days annually

Company bonus prorated for the duration of the fiscal year.
