About the Role
As a key member of our Finance team, you'll gain hands-on experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and administrative support. You'll help maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on organization, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
What you'll be doing:
General Accounting
- Assist in the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Support accounts receivable activities including preparation of EFT forms, deposit slips and payment applications.
- Support accounts payable activities including supplier disbursements, reconciliation and completion of monthly supplier accounts.
- Review employees' expense reports in applicable systems to ensure compliance with Company policy and proper coding of expenses.
- Collaborate with Senior Accountant to support audits, verify the integrity of financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Respond to supplier inquiries, research and resolve problems related to various budget and invoice issues in Maestro software.
- Collaborate effectively with all departments to achieve the day-to-day financial results.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and submit quarterly HST returns in compliance with regulatory deadlines.
- Assist in the month-end, quarterly and yearly reporting processes, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist with all statutory reporting requirements as required.
Administration
- Maintain accurate electronic and hardcopy records, including invoices and statement of accounts.
- Support the budgeting process by gathering and analyzing financial data.
- Send monthly A/R and A/P aging statements to financial institutions.
- Liaise with banks and other financial institutions as required

Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Working towards CPA or equivalent designation is an asset.
- Experience working in the construction industry is an asset.
- Experience with SAP Concur or a similar enterprise level accounting software is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Exceptionally strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies promptly.
