As a Account Manager - Fire, Marine and Life Safety you will be responsible for a wide variety of duties including identifying and securing sales and service opportunities focusing on Marine (Life Rafts, Immersion Suits, Breathing Apparatus, Fire Fighting Equipment) and Industrial Safety (Confined Space, Gas Detection) Products in Atlantic regions of PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and The Maritimes. Additional, but not limited to expectations of this role include:
- Hunting for business through company lead follow-ups, existing customer history, tender sites, current events and their past history of Industry contacts.
- Working in conjunction with Inside sales staff to ensure prompt and accurate quotes are submitted.
- Ensuring CRM tools are updated and reviewed.
- Reviewing information from suppliers on new or updated products.
- Taking part in any related training or certification courses.
- Staying up to date on Marine, Off-shore and Safety standards and regulations.
- Keeping up on Industry news and highlights.
- Traveling to customer sites ensuring they are the face of our Industrial, Marine and Offshore product portfolio.
- Attending industry related trade shows and events to promote KD Pratt , our product lines, services and our business units.
The successful candidate would bring a variety of competencies to the role including:
- A highly motivated and focused sales person that uses their previous experience and industry knowledge to meet and exceed sales targets by developing new relationships in the industry.
- A people person who is comfortable in most situations whether it be on a job site, in a Teams call, presenting a product or at a trade show booth.
- Client focused with an emphasis on customer service that is etched into their work ethic
- Attentive to details in every aspect of the job from their technical knowledge to their use of CRM tools, and their sales pipeline management.
- Adaptable. Things can change quickly, and they dont sweat the small stuff.
- A team player who has no issues lending a hand or asking for one.
- Keenly interested and experienced in Safety Equipment and Life rafts for Industrial, Marine and Off Shore Industries.
- Ability to travel to remote client sites. Overtime and overnight travel will be required; therefore, hours of work/schedule will vary.
Candidate must also possess the following experience and training credentials:
- 2+ years of experience in the fire, life safety and/or marine product/services industry complimented by completion of a technical diploma in fire, safety, marine, or related field.
- Relevant experience in technical product sales or related sales (or business development) of product/service-based solutions.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of fire, industrial safety, marine and other local, national and international codes and standards would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with computerized ERP and CRM systems would also be an asset.

- NOTE: Candidates who advance through the hiring process will be required to submit a current Certificate of Conduct and Drivers abstract.
