Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Junior/Intermediate Structural Designer to join our team, based out of Calgary, AB. The Junior/Intermediate Structural Designer will be responsible for is responsible for modeling structural steel, foundations and piles in a 3D environment using Plant 3D and Advance Steel with some input from an engineer. AutoCAD proficiency is required for 2D drawing production. Join us in this full time permanent role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize Plant 3D and Advance Steel to model structural steel, foundation, and piles.
- Develop 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Make basic decisions/plan concerning day-to-day modelling and drawing production activities.
- Receive technical and administrative supervision from an engineering supervisor.
- Receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
- Solicit assistance on unusual problems.
- Maintain contact with the work group or discipline and interfaces with other disciplines as required.
- Communicate effectively intra and inter discipline.
- Participate in and foster a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project.
- Additional duties as required.
- Civil Design and Drafting program Diploma is required.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is required with preference for those how have experience in the energy or mining industries.
- Proficient in Plant 3D, Advance Steel and AutoCAD is a strong asset.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
