Turner and Townsend is seeking a Program Controls Lead to oversee project controls and commercial management strategies for an exciting major program. In this role, you will play a key part in developing, managing, and executing project controls strategies across the construction stages. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in scheduling, cost management, commercial controls, and cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and optimize resource allocation.
*This role will be onsite, three days a week, in the London, ON area*
Job Description- Develop and lead project controls and commercial management frameworks, ensuring structured cost, schedule, and performance tracking for successful project execution.
- Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure optimal resource allocation and cost efficiency while maintaining commercial oversight.
- Oversee contractor and subtrade payment validation.
- Partner with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to align cost strategies with production targets and business goals.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis, develop cost models, and provide senior leadership with financial reports and insights on trends, variances, and performance metrics.
- Drive process improvement initiatives by streamlining workflows, optimizing reporting structures, and enhancing project control and commercial management methodologies.
- Support risk mitigation and change control strategies, assessing the financial, contractual, and scheduling impact of project adjustments.
- Manage and guide a team of project control specialists and ensure best practices are implemented.
- Lead the reporting aspects for the project.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of related experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- Strong background in cost management, reporting, and commercial controls.
- Proficiency in project controls software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Thorough knowledge of industry best practices in project controls.
- Professional certifications such as P.Eng or PMP are considered an asset.
