Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play a key role in enhancing financial processes, leveraging technology, and delivering value-added insights to leadership. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Schedule:

  • This position holds normal business hours, with little to no travel expected.
  • We support a hybrid work environment consisting of in-person collaboration of 3 days per week in our Calgary office and flexible remote work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and enhancing financial and operational internal controls, proactively identifying risk gaps, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process, prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements note packages, and assist with MD&A review.
  • Prepare monthly gas accruals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Document complex transactions in accordance with IFRS, providing clear and insightful analysis.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including PP&E and ROU asset continuities.
  • Assist with the transactional cost build-up related to capital assets during month-end close.
  • Support quarterly, interim, and annual external audits, as well as internal and tax audits as required.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA or equivalent designation required.

Experience & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
