We are Reliable Electric, a growing residential and commercial electrical contractor focused on building the most camaraderic team that efficiently delivers the best solutions to our clients. Our specialty is wiring high-end custom homes on the Shore and Vancouver that we can take pride in.
We are looking to hire a Controller who is passionate about problem solving and able to provide the stability and reliability to support our next level growth. You will report to the General Manager who is currently operating as the Controller and work closely with the Office Coordinator to accomplish all tasks in the Finance and Admin department.
We require an analytical, business minded person that can think across departments to help us remove roadblocks and grow. Being a small business means that you need to be humble enough to take on any task to make the office or company run smoothly.
As the Controller, you will provide the necessary planning, organization, direction, co-ordination and control of financial systems to meet the company's growth and profitability targets. Your day-to-day tasks include payroll review, CRA filings, monthly budgeting, managing AR, capital investments, fleet management, transaction review, ad-hoc reporting, and more. You will also be responsible for some administrative HR processes including the company policies, grant applications, onboarding and offboarding.

About you:
  • Humble enough to take on any task.
  • Believe in camaraderie and working as part of a team.
  • A post-secondary business or accounting degree with CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three years experience accounting or finance experience in a project based business. Experience in a construction business strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills + Intermediate Computer Skills + Excel.
  • Experience with Procore considered an asset.
  • Attentive to detail and organized.
