SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Location:
- Head Office: 25 Sims Crescent, Unit 1, Richmond Hill ON L4B 1C9. This role requires 2 days a week in-office.
Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing finance support by ensuring all accounting principles and processes are adhered to.
- Performing all financial periods end close functions, which includes preparation of journal entries to the general ledger, balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
- Oversees all the banking transactions, account reconciliations and timely resolution of all reconciling items
- Reconcile monthly intercompany balances with foreign related parties
- Prepare, file, pay, reconcile federal/provincial sales and withholding taxes in Canada
- Oversees the company's lease administration, schedules and payment of all rental properties
- Maintain accurate and timely weekly cashflow forecast
- Performs technical work related to the preparation and the maintenance of the company's fixed asset records, transactions and reports
- Maintain chart of account and period closing administration in corporate ERP system
- Oversee the user access administration of the company ERP, banking and finance workflow portals
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year end reporting, financial and tax audits
- Be part of the team to implement the new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- CPA designated or working towards the final level of completion
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with multi-entities and currency settings
- Experience with Sales tax filing in Canada is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Minimum advance skills in Excel required
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics, knowledge of Macro, VBA, Sequel, Python would be considered an asset
- Can demonstrate a high level of autonomy and self-motivation
- Able to multi-task with confidence and ease
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced office environment with a Can-Do attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to work traditional office hours: Monday to Friday, start between 8am – 9am, and infrequently work beyond these parameters to meet mission-critical deadlines
