Salary: Starting at $42,900

Starship Freight is looking to fill a new Customer Service Representative/Freight Coordinator position, available now!

Celebrating over 35 years in business, Starship Freight is a third-party transportation logistics company, located in Georgetown, Ontario.

General Summary:

Provides customer service by obtaining, analyzing and verifying the accuracy of order information in a timely manner. Initiates and/or implements corrective action as needed in order to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.

Core Functions:

  • Build relationships with current and future customers and suppliers.
  • Responding to customer inquiries as related to services, and service and general inquiries.
  • Ensure that service calls are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, record details of inquiries, complaints, or comments as well as actions are taken.
  • Compare disputed services with original requisitions and information from invoices.
  • Schedule delivery appointments for customers to accommodate on-time deliveries.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers problems.
  • Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years experience in the trucking industry is preferred; however, not required.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous customer service experience is required.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks at a time.
  • Demonstrates ability for problem-solving ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment

Offers of Employment

Any offer of employment will outline the terms and conditions of employment, including any further steps that the applicant must agree to complete to be eligible for employment, such as a successful police records check.

Offers of employment will contain a probationary period of at least three months, so that both the employer and employee can trial the fit between the employee and the position, without any negative consequences.

Once the offer of employment is signed by the employee and any additional agreed terms have been met, the new employee may begin work at the agreed upon date. New employees will receive training about key policies and safety issues that pertain to their position or that are required by law.
