About This Role
We are seeking a Lead Developer/Architect to provide architectural vision, lead technical strategy, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of digital services for one of our clients. This role is critical in driving the successful delivery of software solutions while maintaining technical excellence. You will work closely with Agile teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to achieve these objectives.

Work Eligibility & Location
This role requires candidates to be located in Canada and eligible to work in Canada. While we are fully remote and offer flexibility in working hours, there will be times when availability during 7:30am-3:30pm PST / 8:30am-4:30pm MST / 10:30am-6:30pm EST is required to align with team collaboration and project needs.
What youll do
- Provide architectural vision and guidance to Agile Teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions, single-page applications, and integrations with enterprise systems (including healthcare or case management systems).
- Define and maintain high-level standards, patterns, and metrics for service quality, system health, data security, and compliance.
- Oversee technical decision-making, research emerging technologies, and prototype solutions to guide strategic direction.
- Implement citizen-centered and human-centered design principles, focusing on frequent, iterative deliveries that modernize legacy systems.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, leveraging modern build-once, deploy-many practices, DevSecOps tools, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Lead development efforts across full-stack applications, driving best practices in code quality, testing, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with UX, product owners, and service teams to translate business needs into architectural approaches and roadmaps.
- Provide technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and presentations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Champion secure data handling, implementing encryption, access control, and robust identity/access management standards (JWTs, OIDC, SAML).
- Monitor and maintain the health of services, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Oversee release planning and deployment approvals while troubleshooting production issues when needed.
- Promote cross-team collaboration, represent the team in strategic discussions, and foster knowledge-sharing on best practices.
What youll bring
- 10+ years of IT solution architecture experience, including 3+ years on healthcare-related projects or case management systems.
- 5+ years of Agile experience incorporating UX design and Service Design approaches.
- 5+ years architecting cloud-native solutions and single-page applications using .NET, Node.js, ASP.NET Core, NestJS, Angular, Vue, or React.
- Strong familiarity with healthcare sector regulations, case management platforms, and secure data handling practices.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Health Informatics, or a related field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (TOGAF, cloud platforms) are a plus.
- Extensive expertise designing and integrating robust APIs and third-party systems.
- Extensive expertise creating and enabling architectural plans that enable frequent service delivery, ensuring target architectures successfully evolve through iterative releases.
- Extensive knowledge in data security, compliance, and encryption for healthcare or regulated environments.
- Extensive experience navigating legacy systems, performing technical discovery, and driving modernization.
- Extensive experience with cross-domain identity/access management (JWTs, OIDC, SAML) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, etc.).
- Extensive experience building distributed, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems with modern CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps).
- Extensive experience collaborating on and implementing reusable services, APIs, and shared architectural components.
- Extensive experience leveraging cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenShift) for containerization, scaling, and production deployments.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management, delivering clear architecture documentation, and leading cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical and leadership abilities to align technical solutions with business objectives, guiding teams to successful outcomes.
