ABOUT THE ROLE
Cuso International (Cuso) is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a coordinator working in our Marketing and Communication (MarCom) team and supporting the annual giving and fundraising campaigns. Supporting the Manager of Annual Giving in the Fundraising team, this role is perfect for an eager new graduate in marketing and communications or someone with experience in the charitable sector looking to expand their skills.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in crafting compelling written and visual content that drives donor engagement and supports our annual giving strategies. Working as part of the MarCom team, this position combines creativity, storytelling, and organizational skills to help deliver impactful campaigns that inspire action.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Graphic Design and Creative Support
- Design visually compelling assets for direct response and online materials, including social media graphics, email templates, print materials, and donor reports.
- Work with external vendors (e.g., printers, Canada Post and/or creative agencies) to ensure the timely production of marketing materials.
- Master our email distribution tool, Feathr and become principal lead for email campaigns
- Maintain brand consistency across all visual and written content.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Write and edit persuasive and engaging content for direct response campaigns, including emails, social media posts, newsletters, and donor communications.
- Collaborate with the International Volunteering Team and Country Program Offices to gather stories and develop narratives that highlight the impact of Cusos work.
- Ensure all written materials align with Cusos brand voice and messaging guidelines.
Campaign Coordination
- Assist in coordinating the development and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Support the Manager, Annual Giving, in monitoring campaign performance and preparing post-campaign analytics and reports.
- Collaborate with the Engagement Team to align schedules and messaging with other revenue generation activities. Assist the launch and rollout of a new alumni strategy to access new networks and potential donors.
Digital Strategy Support
- Contribute to the execution of digital fundraising campaigns through email, social media, and online ads.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing digital performance metrics to inform future strategies.
- Support innovative initiatives to expand Cusos reach and attract new audiences.
Administrative and Team Support
- Manage and organize content assets, ensuring easy accessibility for the team.
- Provide general administrative support to the Manager, Annual Giving, as needed.
- Assist in maintaining donor databases and ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- A college diploma in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
- 2 3 years experience
- Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and website content management systems.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Desirable
- Experience working or volunteering in the non-profit or charitable sector.
- Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Raisers Edge) and digital fundraising platforms.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
- Knowledge of international development issues and a commitment to Cusos mission and values.
