The Regional Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centered services for children, youth, and families within our region. Working in close collaboration with the Regional Manager, other managers, and coordinators, this position provides oversight and support to a diverse range of services, including Outreach, SHSS – Specialized Homes and Support Services, Contracted Family and Care Homes, and Respite Services.
The Regional Coordinator ensures that services align with MCFD and CARF standards, best practices in child and youth care, and regulatory requirements, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for supported individuals.
REPORTS TO: Regional Manager
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee child- and youth-focused programs (e.g., Contracted Family and Care Homes, Outreach, Respite, and SHSS – Specialized Homes and Support Services).
  • Support and mentor managers, staff, and contracted providers in all aspects of program operations.
  • Assist in staff training and development, ensuring adherence to best practices in trauma-informed care, positive behavior support, and inclusive service delivery.
  • Provide guidance on behavioral support strategies, intervention techniques, and restrictive practices in accordance with MCFD guidelines.
  • Assist teams in managing mental health, behavioral, and developmental needs, ensuring appropriate referrals and service coordination.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with families, caregivers, advocates, and community partners to ensure responsive and person-centered support.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and continuous improvement of service delivery across the region.
  • Monitor individual service plans and ensure compliance with MCFD policies, licensing standards, and funding agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records, including personnel, payroll, financial, and case documentation.
  • Coordinate crisis response efforts and assist in problem-solving to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Oversee risk management activities, including health and safety initiatives.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and recruitment efforts in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Advise the Regional Manager and HR Director on labour relations and workforce development needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  1. Diploma, Degree, or Certification in Social Services, Child and Youth Care, Disability Studies, Health Care, or a related field.
  2. Minimum two years of experience in a related field, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  3. Knowledge of MCFD service standards, trauma-informed care, and person-centered planning.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Criminal Record Check (required).
  6. First Aid & CPR Certification (required).
  7. Class 4 Driver's License (preferred).
