Varicent Legal Team is looking for a practical Senior Corporate Clerk to support the Legal Team and broader business on a diverse range of corporate legal matters. In this role, candidate will play an important role in helping the Legal Team address daily requests and complete important legal projects.

What you will do:

  • Review, revise and draft legal documentation from standard templates such as non-disclosure agreements, orders, statements of work and vendor contracts
  • Respond to day to day legal inquiries
  • Provide support for legal projects
  • Manage intake process for Legal Team requests
  • Maintain database of insurance and intellectual property portfolio
  • Assist with maintaining contract repository
  • Help manage company minute books and records
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Reviewing, maintaining and updating precedents
  • Other duties as required

What you will bring:

  • 5 years experience as a law clerk
  • Completion of Law Clerk program or equivalent
  • Excellent experience in corporate and commercial law
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Highly organized and uses common sense
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism

Success Outcomes:

Within 3 Months:

Get to know organization, ways of working, key legal documents and begin identifying opportunities for improvement

Within 6 Months:

Complete key projects and assist legal team to work faster and more practically

7 Months and Beyond:

Take ownership of day to day legal tasks using company templates. Build strong relationships within the business. Take on challenges and stretch projects.
