Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Outside Account Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, maximizing profitable sales, and driving business growth for our organization.

  • Develop and nurture lasting, ethical customer relationships to maximize profitable sales and grow profit sharing
  • Visit customer offices, shops, and job sites to assess business needs and maintain strong relationships
  • Prospect and identify new customers, alerting the Profit Center Manager and Credit Team of viable prospects
  • Lead the sales process, including producing sales call reports, territory planning, and setting growth targets
  • Analyze customer data and develop strategies to profitably grow market share while meeting and exceeding targets
  • Process orders, quotes, and job packages, and perform other necessary sales functions
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues promptly, addressing short payments and returns
  • Collaborate with the Profit Center Manager and Credit Team to facilitate payment of accounts receivable
  • Develop and oversee implementation of strategic vendor programs to grow the business profitably
  • Participate in vendor trade shows and industry conventions
  • Support Customer Service Representatives and contribute to all Profit Center activities as a team player
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations at all customer locations and within the Profit Center
Qualifications
  • College or University degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to close deals
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret customer data and develop effective sales strategies
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Intermediate math skills and ability to learn new software systems quickly
  • Willingness to travel within Edmonton and surrounding areas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of plumbing and building products
  • Experience using Trend and Eclipse software
  • Familiarity with the local Edmonton market and business landscape
