A Day in the Life:
PRT Summerland is currently recruiting for seasonal Forest Nursery Workers to assist with seedling sowing and seedling thinning for Spring and Summer work. This engaging, high paced, physical position offers a safe work environment and an opportunity for a career that will make a positive change in the world. Candidates should have a desire and keenness to learn about the seed orchard activities, work independently and efficiently. No experience required; full training provided.
Work is available approximately from March 10th to the end of June. There may be short breaks in between thinning projects.

About the team:
The Nursery Worker will work alongside other nursery workers under the supervision of the Nursery Lead and report to the Nursery Manager.

Required/Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Reliable transportation
- Appropriate work attire
- Good manual dexterity and eyesight
- Team-oriented personality with a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs
- Commitment to quality and safety

Compensation and Benefits:

- Competitive hourly wage of $18.00/hour for the training period, compensation then transfers to piece work with greater earning potential. Average for 2024 season was over $20.00/hour; motivated and efficient workers have no upper limit on piece earnings!
