Homer Street Cafe is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver's Yaletown district. Created within an open concept kitchen bar; classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. Position Responsibilities

• Providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests, restaurant staff and culinary production team
• Being very familiar with all food and beverage items on the menu
• Performing the opening and closing procedures i.e., the set up and break down of stations, clearing and re-setting up of tables, etc
• Maintaining and ensuring the overall cleanliness of assigned station(s) and establishment
• Protecting the restaurant and guests by complying with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority
• Assist in the final preparation of dishes
• Deliver orders to maintain fast service
• Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing
• Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request)
• Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities
• Maintains verbal communication with chefs and waitstaff
• Monitors the quality of dishes
• Ensures restaurant adherence to health and sanitation standards
• Assists staff where needed
• Additional duties as requested

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Valid BC Foodsafe Certification & BC Serving it Right Certification
• Experience: prior experience in a food-serving establishment
• Self-motivated, organized, and ability to multi-task effectively
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, days, nights, and weekends
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Ability to work varied hours
• Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and employees
• Customer service focus and quality orientated
• Adaptable and flexible
• High energy level
