The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Residential Building Superintendent to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of three residential buildings. This is a live-in position that offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the buildings upkeep while working closely with tenants, contractors, and property management.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Building Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine maintenance and general repairs in common areas and tenant units, including light plumbing, painting, cleaning, and minor electrical work.
• Ensure buildings remain in excellent condition through proactive maintenance.
• Oversee and coordinate subtrades and suppliers for specialized repair work.

Tenant Relations & Property Management Support

• Respond promptly and professionally to tenant maintenance requests.
• Assist the Property Manager with inspections, move-in/move-out procedures, and other operational needs.
• Promote a clean, safe, and secure living environment for residents.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce building safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor and maintain building security systems, fire safety equipment, and emergency preparedness plans.

What You Bring

• Previous experience as a Building Superintendent, Maintenance Technician, or similar role is an asset.
• Strong hands-on skills in general maintenance, plumbing, painting, and repairs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with tenants and contractors.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Valid Nova Scotia drivers license required.
