Job Summary:

Our client, a family owned dealership in Fredericton, NB, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with strong analytical skills and experience in financial management. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and strategic planning to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial activities, including general accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and corporate policies.

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.

  • Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory valuation.

  • Implement financial strategies to improve profitability and cost control.

  • Collaborate with department heads to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.

  • Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to drive strategic growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the heavy equipment, automotive, or dealership sector.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CDK, Dealertrack, SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Experience managing audits and financial compliance requirements.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
