Job Title: Field GIT

Reporting to the Senior Production Geologist or designate, the Field Geologist will collaborate closely with the operations team to support the ML/ARD characterization program for all construction earthworks activities. The primary focus of this role will be to assist in the characterization drill program and production drilling efforts, which are critical for developing an Acid Rock Drainage (ARD) model based on the identification of Potentially Acid Generating (PAG) and non-PAG materials.

The Field Geologist will direct the delineation of PAG and non-PAG materials in the field, ensuring proper placement and handling in coordination with the on-site operations team. Close collaboration with other departments is essential to ensure accurate data collection, material management, and the overall success of the ML/ARD management plan.

This is a seasonal position, the anticipated employment duration, will depend on the workload and the construction season.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Collaboration and Communication:

· Collaborate with Skeena's construction team to support the drill program, with a particular focus on characterization drilling.

· Work directly with the on-site Assay Lab to supply samples, communicate priorities, and provide forecasts of incoming samples.

· Regularly communicate with supervisors to ensure the smooth movement of materials and support other operational needs.

· Provide ongoing support to the survey team for delineating PAG and non-PAG material post-blast, contributing to field-based operations.

Sample Collection and Management

· Serve as the primary support for the collection of field-level ML/ARD samples, ensuring they meet the required standards after being delivered to the Assay Lab for testing.

· Obtain, document, and organize field-level ML/ARD samples according to established standards, ensuring proper and timely delivery to the Assay Lab for analysis.

· Prepare samples for offsite analysis, coordinating logistics with the Assay Lab and Warehouse to facilitate efficient sample shipment.

Data Management and Analysis:

· Support data analysis, interpretation, and in-field sample collections, ensuring accurate record-keeping in alignment with the ML/ARD Management Plan.

· Contribute to geological interpretations of non-PAG and PAG limits, including compiling, validating, and integrating data in support of 3D modeling efforts.

· Monitor the movement of all ML/ARD materials, maintaining detailed logs of volumes for tracking and reporting purposes.

Safety and Compliance

· Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring strict adherence to Skeena's health and safety policies and best practices across the field team.

· All other duties as reasonably assigned

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or Bachelor of Engineering/Applied Science degree in Mining or Geological Engineering

· Registered professional (GIT/EIT) with EGBC or ability to register in B.C.

· The ideal candidate will be someone who has practical field experience with precious metals exploration and diamond drilling programs.

Experience / Skills

· A minimum of 1 year of related experience is required.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and GIS programs (ArcGIS); experience with 3D ore body modeling software is an asset.

· Experience with digital data capture techniques and systems.

· Ability to operate a 4x4 equipped vehicle in varying terrain and weather conditions.

· Adaptable to change, ability to operate in less than perfect conditions and with less than perfect information at times.

· Detail oriented with excessive attention to detail

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters

· Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed

· Strong interpersonal and reasoning skills, with proven problem-solving abilities

· Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with other

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is CA$30 - 40 p/h, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
