JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fleet & Maintenance Coordinator will report to the Risk & Compliance Manager and is responsible for all commercial vehicle fleet service and maintenance.
The Fleet & Maintenance Coordinator manages the company's vehicle maintenance schedules and oversees the execution of these schedules for all branches in Canada and the USA. The position requires attention to detail and a high level of communication with suppliers/vendors and co-workers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the Borealis Commercial Fleet Service and Maintenance schedule and requirements;
- Plan for new additions to the Fleet, chassis swaps on service bodies, coordinate new truck builds, and inspect newly delivered vehicles;
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance between branches and vendors;
- Setup and commission our point of sale system and ELDs in new vehicles;
- Train new employees and drivers on safe operations of the commercial vehicles they will be operating;
- Monitor vehicle mileage, usage, and performance data to forecast maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, parts replacements, and servicing schedules;
- Liaise with mechanics, technicians, and external vendors for specialized repairs.
- Ensure timely delivery of parts and prioritize critical repairs to minimize downtime.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with service providers and parts suppliers.
QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Energy (preferably Propane) industry and trucking transportation knowledge and experience;
- Class 1 driver's license;
- Hands-on field and construction experience;
- Computer skills (Microsoft and Google Suite experience);
- Critical thinking and problem-solving;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
JOB TYPE
Full-time and remote home office set-up is required. This position is within the corporate Borealis team and will require travel to all branches in Canada and the USA.
