ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible to ensure projects align with business plan objectives and are completed on time, within budget and scope, while ensuring projects delivered provide positive business value and benefits. The PM will also identify areas of improvement and lead minor projects/process improvement initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead assigned projects across all divisions of Ontario Northland and ensure they are completed within scope, schedule and on budget
  • Create project plans, liaise with sponsor and stakeholder to outline project objectives, deliverables, and performance metrics
  • Manage allocated budget, maintain accurate financial records, and collaborate with executive sponsors to address budgetary concerns or adjustments. Investigate and interpret information to develop process maps and workflows, identify key issues that need to be addressed and formulate potential solutions to recommend to project teams.
  • Review budgets and invoices in comparison to deliverables by vendors on projects, develop cost benefit analysis and provide recommendations on how to proceed with projects
  • Coordinate with external vendors to complete projects efficiently and effectively
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Create transition to operations reports for sustainability of projects after completion
  • Coordinate the creation of training materials in alignment with the OCM training plans and the Organizational Development and Engagement Specialist to support project training requirements
  • Current/future state process mapping to identify areas of improvement and operational readliness
  • Design, develop and document administrative processes to help improve safety, quality and efficiency
  • Support Manager, BAPMO in the initialization and planning of continuous improvement projects
  • Take a lead role in promoting and improving quality assurance processes, expectations and results
  • Provide positive customer service to all areas of the organization
  • Handle inquiries for new projects or improvement initiatives
  • Discuss with the PMO team and act on appropriate continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with employees
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is mandatory
  • Post Diploma/ Graduate Certificate in Project Management is an asset
  • 3-5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • PMI-ACP, CSM, Prince2, Prosci, Lean Six Sigma designations would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of process mapping and value stream mapping
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, and have previous experience leading technology projects
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials, courses, and programs an asset
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work with team members of all technical and project management skill level
