Forsite is actively looking for a Utilities Wildfire Risk Manager who will involve in helping clients understand the wildfire risk environment in which they are operating, supporting them in assessing this risk, and designing processes and tools to support wildfire risk-informed decisions.

WHAT WILL YOU DO
The Wildfire Risk Manager- Utilities is responsible for designing and implementing wildfire risk management processes to support sound decision making for our Powerline Utilities clients across North America. You will work with our team of specialists in wildfire risk management to complete risk assessments and design tools and systems to support our clients in managing wildfire risk. The role will focus on services and innovative solutions that support sound decision-making in wildfire management, risk assessment, and mitigation. This role will include:
1. Wildfire Risk Management Process Design and Facilitation
Facilitate risk identification, analysis and evaluation processes to support clients in risk mitigation
Organize and lead workshops, strategy sessions and other meetings or processes to support the risk assessment process
2. Mitigation Planning
Support the development of wildfire mitigation plans for our clients
Ensure concise and client/jurisdiction-focused wildlife mitigation plans to support operationally realistic and implementable plans
3. Project Management
Design and manage risk management projects
Ensure clear understanding of client needs, develop workplans/project plans, and manage projects to successful completion.
4. Interdisciplinary Teams
Coordinate interdisciplinary teams in the risk assessment process,
Utilize a range of experts, specialists, tools and systems to ensure sound decision support tools for our clients
5. Strategy and Innovation
Contribute to the strategic operationalization of wildfire management technology and data to ensure value for our clients
Support other Forsite Fire teams in the implementation of wildfire risk management processes
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor degree in the natural resource field
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in wildfire-related planning and project management combination of education and experience may be considered
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience with powerline utilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in designing and implementing risk management processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and presentations
- Demonstrated project management skill and experience in large, complex interdisciplinary projects
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Familiarity with fire modeling, data analysis and range of GIS and remote sensing technologies
- Familiarity with data standards, landscape ecology, and wildfire planning and mitigation strategies in western Canada will be considered an asset plus
