Our manufacturing client in London, ON is looking for a Director of Business Development for their facility.
Shift - Days
Pay - $250K-$280K
ResponsibilitiesStrategy Development & Leadership:
Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's vision and strategy.
- Collaborate with global leadership to implement strategic and operational plans.
- Develop and lead business development strategies, including market studies and competitive benchmarking.
- Support executive leadership in business optimization, M&A, and expansion opportunities.
Customer & Market Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global OEM and Tier 1 customers.
- Translate customer product engineering demands into business development strategies.
- Analyze industry trends and recommend product portfolio opportunities.
Operational & Financial Impact:
- Drive profitability through tactical management and new business development.
- Oversee evaluation of production facilities, costs, and inventory management systems.
- Develop cost impact assessments, CapEx evaluations, and ROI for new product platforms.
Team & Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product development teams to align engineering and business development roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure business development goals are met across all regions (NA, Europe, AP).
- Manage critical path analysis, project scheduling, and resource allocation for BD initiatives.
Business Planning & Growth:
- Contribute to general business planning processes, including capital, expenses, and systems for business development.
- Maintain long-term strategic planning for business development, including functional group needs.
- Monitor product design trends, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Experience:
- 10+ years in a senior role (Director or above) within the automotive industry, with expertise in engineering, business development, and strategic planning.
- Preference for experience in die casting or similar manufacturing processes.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related fields. Master's/MBA is a plus.
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of automotive OEM customer business models.
- Proven record in assessing, planning, and executing business development strategies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and resolution skills.
- Excellent customer relations, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and work independently with competing priorities.
