Stepping Stones Crisis Society is accepting applications for a full time, permanent, Outreach & Advocacy Coordinator, to provide leadership and oversight to the Community and Client Support programs.

Stepping Stones is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by domestic violence and crisis situations. Based in Cold Lake, Alberta, they provide a safe and nurturing environment where those in need can find refuge, support, and resources to rebuild their lives. They offer a range of services, including emergency shelter, counselling, education, and advocacy, all aimed at empowering clients to overcome their challenges and achieve long-term stability and safety.

The Outreach & Advocacy Coordinator will ensure that Community Support and advocacy programs remain responsive, inclusive, and aligned with the organization's mission to provide holistic client support. Additionally, the role leads a dedicated team focused on outreach efforts, community advocacy, and direct client support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the outreach, advocacy, and support services team and ensure programs effectively meet client needs and organizational standards
  • Provide direct program development and oversight through collaboration with Management and other Coordinators
  • Work with staff to develop and implement effective, client-centered advocacy strategies
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized case management plans in collaboration with support staff and SSCS clients, assessing client needs, strengths, and risk factors
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff
  • Report on key outcomes and measurables while using data to drive improvements
  • Represent the organization at community events and advocacy initiatives, promoting awareness and support for Stepping Stones' mission

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field; Preferred

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in Community Support Worker, advocacy, or related services
  • Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of advocacy and trauma-informed practices
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Check
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving work environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint and other workplace technologies
