About the Opportunity

Situated within UJAs Integrated Development Department, UJAs Development team engages corporate donors throughout our diverse community to support UJAs mission through a range of high-impact activities.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy, Operations, and Analytics, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Corporate Partnerships to lead the corporate sponsorship portfolio at UJA. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic vision, growth, and innovation of UJAs corporate sponsorship efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking approach to building transformational partnerships, aligning sponsorship opportunities with UJAs mission, and driving long-term impact.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year strategic plan to double UJAs Corporate Sponsorship portfolio over the next 5-years, aligning corporate partnerships with organizational goals and community priorities.
  • Shape the strategic direction of UJAs corporate sponsorship efforts by identifying emerging trends, analyzing market opportunities, and creating innovative sponsorship models that deliver measurable impact for both UJA and its partners.
  • Partner with UJAs senior leadership to align corporate sponsorship strategy with overarching organizational objectives, ensuring a cohesive approach across departments.

Data-Driven Strategy Execution

  • Develop actionable insights from sponsorship performance data, enabling continuous refinement and optimization of strategies.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of sponsorship initiatives, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and organizational impact.
  • Leverage research and analytics to anticipate challenges, seize growth opportunities, and inform decision-making at all levels of the sponsorship portfolio.

Portfolio Development & Innovation

  • Build and oversee a diverse, high-value pipeline of corporate sponsorship prospects, fostering innovative and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Design new sponsorship offerings and models, including branded initiatives, cause marketing campaigns, and events, to attract top-tier corporate support.
  • Lead the creation of tailored partnership proposals that demonstrate clear ROI and mission alignment for corporate sponsors.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to internal teams, empowering them to contribute effectively to sponsorship growth and stewardship.
  • Partner with lay leaders, senior volunteers, and UJA professionals to identify and capitalize on high-impact sponsorship opportunities.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to corporate executives and senior leadership, leveraging insights to foster long-term engagement.

Brand Stewardship & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure all sponsorship activities align with UJAs brand and reputation, performing rigorous due diligence on prospective partners to manage potential risks.
  • Develop a robust framework for recognizing sponsors, maximizing their visibility while enhancing UJAs reputation as a trusted philanthropic partner.

Event & Partnership Excellence

  • Spearhead the strategic vision for sponsorship-driven events and initiatives, ensuring alignment with UJAs goals and the creation of meaningful experiences for sponsors and attendees.
  • Represent UJA as a thought leader in corporate sponsorship and corporate social responsibility, influencing industry best practices and building UJAs profile.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, fundraising, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFRE, MBA) are an asset.

10 + years of relevant fundraising or sales experience

Team management experience preferred

Strong relationship and coalition building skills

Proven ability to develop and cultivate high net worth donors

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues

Experience researching prospects and donors

Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a busy environment

Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and associated functions

Knowledge of Salesforce an asset

Proactive with excellent organizational, prioritizing and time-management skills

A self-starter able to leverage his/her knowledge, skills and experience to manage complex change from start to finish

Ability to manage complex projects and budgets, working collaboratively with staff as well as with multiple stakeholders to deliver results

An ability to think strategically and critically

Strong problem-solving, decision-making and analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail

Enthusiasm, creativity, innovation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality

Alignment with the mission, values, and goals of the organization

This is a full-time permanent position. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work.
