Your Role in the Bigger Picture
As a Regional Advisory Manager, youll be the central hub for the MLA Canada Advisory Team in Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Advisory, this role centers around leveraging local real estate expertise and gathering/analyzing information for multifamily developers. From delivering and presenting research reports to monitoring the impacts of new governmental policy, youll play a pivotal role in shaping the reach of MLA Advisory as we grow into the Alberta market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Activity Tracking
- Responsible for touring and monitoring major residential real estate projects that launch in Calgary and other cities in Alberta, with particular attention to those in MLA Canada's areas of activity.
- Stay informed about all significant site acquisitions and development trends within Calgary and the Alberta market.
- Utilize an established network to gain insights into competing projects, land deals, and urban planning initiatives within Calgary and surrounding areas.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of past and current projects within Calgary and other Alberta markets.
- Lead and oversee data analysis and recommendations on site feasibility, pricing, product recommendations, and other market trends specific to Calgary.
- Provide feedback on architectural floorplans to create efficient, saleable homes suited to the Alberta buyer profile.
- Conceptualize, proof, and present MLA Advisory reports to Alberta clients, delivering insights and market recommendations.
- Lead special reporting projects and client meetings, translating data into actionable recommendations and strategies.
- Provide quality control checks on research work to ensure it is meeting MLA standards and providing value to clients
Reporting & Presentation Skills
- Ability to produce comprehensive, client-ready research reports and presentations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey research findings effectively to clients and internal teams
Department Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly departmental goals (rocks) specific to MLA Advisorys operations in Calgary.
- Manage workflows within the Advisory team, ensuring efficient operations tailored to the Alberta market.
- Assist in the training of new Advisory members, with a focus on Alberta-specific housing policies and market insights.
- Support the Director of Advisory in workflow management, team development, and identifying opportunities for improvement related to the local market.
Company Responsibilities
- Embody and promote MLA Canadas core values and culture within the Calgary team and Alberta market.
- Represent the company at industry events and building a strong network in the Alberta real estate community.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3-5 years experience in residential real estate, real estate analysis, or urban planning/development
- Easy access to a car for touring real estate projects in the Greater Calgary Area
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Office 365) and Hubspot both used daily
- Experience with tools like BambooHR, Asana, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Amazing attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Superior time-management skills to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a personable, outgoing attitude.
- A high level of professionalism, diplomacy, and tact in dealing with stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to foster a positive team environment while producing results independently.
