Payroll/Human Resources Manager Job Description

Job Description
The Payroll/HR Manager is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations. OSF values integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills. The goal of the Payroll Manager is to ensure payroll procedures are compliant, efficient and current. This position is responsible for supporting the OSF spectrum of operations to support OSFs constantly expanding range of activities, including the commercialization of our nonbrowning Arctic apple varietiesin the US and Canada.
Position Requirements
Experience in Payroll and Human Resources, or similar role
Current knowledge of payroll procedures and payroll laws
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion at all times
Excellent understanding of multi-location (North American) payroll and taxes
Familiarity with payroll software
Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
Strong organizational and leadership skills
BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPP,CPM) is a benefit
Experience using QuickBooks Online, DayForce or Ceridian payroll platforms and familiarity with ERP systems
Enthusiastic, positive energy that aligns with the companys entrepreneurial attitude
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
The ability to work under pressure
Mandatory attention to detail
Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously
High degree of organizational and time management expertise
Position Responsibilities
Development and management of systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
Oversee timekeeping and payroll systems for both US and Canada
Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
Assisting with recruitment processes in both US and Canada
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Supervise and coach payroll team members as needed
Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
Collaborate with Human Resources, Administration and Finance teams
Maintain accurate Employee and Payroll records
Prepare reports for the Executive and ownership teams
Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions
Completion of year end filings
Travel to US locations as needed
Other duties as required by supervisor
