Work Arrangement: On-Site

Compensation Range: $43.59 - $51.28/hour

Position Summary:

ErinoakKids is seeking an Audiologist to work as part of a dynamic inter-professional team to provide evidence-based audiology diagnostic, surveillance, and habilitation services to children from birth to 6 years of age.

ErinoakKids is the lead agency for Ontario's Infant Hearing Program (IHP) in the Central West Region, which includes Halton, Peel, Waterloo, Wellington and Dufferin. The Infant Hearing Program is based on a foundation of early detection of hearing loss through universal access to universal newborn hearing screening. More than 27,000 newborns access hearing screening in the region each year. Of those, about 4 in 1,000 will be born with – or will acquire in early childhood – permanent hearing loss. Early detection of hearing loss and early intervention through access to a range of services including ongoing audiology, social work and spoken or signed language development services that are in place before the child's first birthday set the stage for optimal outcomes. Travel between the ErinoakKids sites may be required.

All IHP audiologists must complete training in required protocols provided through the Ministry of Children and Community Social Services (MCCSS). Training will be provided as part of employment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Audiology
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience preferred
  • Experience working in paediatrics and with persons with special needs preferred
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an inter-professional team and to establish relationships with clients, families and other members of the child's care team
  • Well-developed clinical skills and demonstrated thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail, and commitment to quality improvement initiatives
Join us on our mission to make a difference and impact on the lives of children and youth with disabilities. Apply today to join the ErinoakKids team!
