Novatech is seeking a graduate to join our Planning and Development team. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the opportunity to facilitate the growth and development of the City of Ottawa and surrounding rural and urban municipalities. What Youll Do

  • Help complete and coordinate development approval applications, including Official Plan amendments, zoning amendments, Committee of Adjustment, Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan Control and condominium applications
  • Review preliminary concept plans, perform due diligence activities and project evaluation
  • Assist in preparing supporting documents such as Planning Rationales
  • Liaise with clients, other consultants, municipalities and other associated agencies in the pursuit of approvals, communicating project information and coordinating tasks
  • Participate in public meetings, hearings and events for development approval applications
  • Assist in negotiating agreements and conditions (e.g., subdivision and site plan conditions/ agreements, condominium registration, permits, etc.)

Skills & Experience Youll Need

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced interdisciplinary work environment
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills
  • Detail-oriented and effective time management capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • A commitment to excellence and high quality work with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a multi-disciplined team
  • A valid Province of Ontario drivers license
  • Student or Co-Op related work experience is an asset

Education and Accreditation Required

  • University degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent
