Successful applicant will complete a paid, 4 day, Supported Employment Fundamentals Training course upon hire.

The Impact 2.0 Project Lead plays the central role in facilitating transitional youth with disabilities and/or barriers to gain vocational skills and increase exposure to employment opportunities. The Impact 2.0 Project Lead supports the overall goal to define best practice for employment intervention for youth through a research and innovation project.

Independently providing both youth employment supports and required research documentation, you work collaboratively with the inclusion Powell River Employment Services team, project manager and research team. The goal of this position is to support youth, aged 16-19, in achieving positive employment outcomes within the timeframe of the term.

You are:

  • Supportive, creative, self-directed and flexible
  • Proficient in disability awareness and possess the ability to recognize skills, abilities and barriers of job seekers
  • Collaborative and can establish and maintain effective working relationships with professionals and the business community
  • Proficient in using digital tools for support, navigation, organization, and connection
  • Organized and have excellent time management abilities

You have:

  • Recent experience working with people with disabilities and/or youth with barriers
  • Strong knowledge of youth issues and challenges related to the youth-adult transition stage
  • Experience in the field of employment supports and/or sales and marketing an asset
  • Familiarity with the local business community and labour market
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interpret human behaviour and ability to clearly explain instruction to others
  • Strong computer, organizational and time management skills, including completing reporting, follow-ups and evaluations.

Requirements for Employment

  • Criminal Record Check (renewable every 5 years)
  • A valid WCB-approved First Aid Certificate (OFA Level 1)
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Use of safe, well maintained personal vehicle is required, with appropriate insurance
