Thames Valley Family Health Team Board of Directors is a skill based, policy governance board committed to creating an organization that is a primary health care leader and enhances the wellbeing of the people of Thames Valley. The Board is dedicated to building a culture focused on employee wellness, integration and collaboration, health equity, and leadership in primary care.

We are seeking one community volunteer for the Governance & Planning Committee of the Thames Valley Family Health Team Board of Directors to commence in the Fall of 2025. The current time commitment would be approximately 4-5 meetings per year with an anticipated duration of 1.5 hours each. Committee members serve for a term of up to two years, subject to renewal.

As a member of this committee, you will advise and assist the Board to fulfill its responsibilities including the following areas:

· Setting strategic direction and defining key objectives for TVFHT

· Establishing and refining board governance structure and processes

· Evaluating board and board committee effectiveness

· Recruitment, orientation, education and evaluation of board members

Experience on a Board of Directors in the public domain, a good understanding of health-care administration and a desire to lead the way in primary health care delivery are necessary. Experience/knowledge of health law, information management or government relations would be an asset.

Where there is more than one qualified candidate, interviews with the TVFHT Board Selection Committee will be scheduled. Interested community members are invited to submit an application no later than April 17, 2025 at 4pm. The successful community member will be required to undergo a criminal background check. To be eligible to apply you must have a Social Insurance Number and in some cases a valid work permit and must provide proof of completed COVID vaccine series with QR code (two vaccines with second dose received more than 14 days ago).
