Job Title: Camp Services Lead

Reporting directly to the General Manager, Eskay Creek, this role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Eskay Creek camps. This role will support camp room bookings, camp cleanliness, service quality, materials and supplies orders, and overall management of the camps and related service contractors. The Camp Services Lead will oversee all Skeena-related interests for camp services at Eskay Creek. The priority of this position is to deliver exceptional camp services to ensure the comfort and safety of all camp guests during their stay at site.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Provide oversight on all camp services at Eskay Creek.

• Foster and maintain a positive relationship with camp services contractors.

• Ensure that camp is welcoming, clean, well run, organized, safe and comfortable for all guests.

• Continuously improve camp services through change management and coaching of Skeena and contractor staff.

• Look for gaps in current camp operations and build plans to improve camp service.

• Manage day-to-day camp requests and schedules, such as room assignments and maintenance requests.

• Manage camp budgets and cost effectiveness while maintaining service quality.

• Review and approve camp services invoices, identify and resolve invoice discrepancies, and initiate

contractual changes when required.

• Attend and record minutes for meetings related to camp operations.

• Preparation, distribution, and communication of all required camp-related reports

• Utilize and maintain INX Camp Management System for all site related activities for room bookings,

travel, scheduling, and policy compliance.

• Support training of new staff or contractors on INX when required.

• Liaise with the Travel lead as required to ensure all travel arrangements run smoothly.

• Support the Travel Lead with day-to-day activities for camp requests, room assignments, travel

requests and changes, charter transportation and resolve travel issues on crew change day.

• Effectively communicate and resolve travel, camp and charter transport issues in a timely manner when Travel Lead is not available.

• Communicate, report, and investigate all camp incidents in a timely and effective manner.

• Overall co-ordination of the various camp services to ensure both contractual and operating standard

compliance is being met.

• Complete regular safety and quality inspections to ensure camp cleanliness standards are maintained

to very high levels. This includes all common areas, offices, lunch areas, bathrooms and waste

disposal areas.

• Work directly with Camp Services contractors to ensure supplies are ordered and kept stocked

regularly and Camp staff are prepared for incoming arrivals.

• Evaluate and monitor complete camp services supply chain including sourcing, transport, storage,

and general inventory management. Recommend and support improvements.

• Support the Camp Services contractors to ensure rooms are effectively cleaned and that the whole

camp area is kept in good repair.

• Audit meals, food service, food coolers and provide feedback on ways to improve camp offerings.

• Manage policy sign off documents and coordinate orientation for people arriving on site; employees,

contractors and visitors.

• Demonstrate social awareness, professionalism, responsibility, commitment and compliance with

Skeena procedures.

• Lead competitive tender processes for camp service contracts

• Any other duties reasonably assigned to you by the Employer.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Hospitality role.

• Camp hospitality experience in the mining or resource sector is required.

• Grade 12 diploma with post-secondary training or experience in Hospitality.

• Familiarity with relevant BC and federal legislation and regulations (e.g., Worksafe BC guidelines, Mines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, FoodSafe)

• Must be highly proficient in MS Office – specifically Microsoft Excel, Word and PPT.

• Ability to learn new systems quickly and effectively utilize systems for business needs.

• Effective communication, strong organizational skills and fast learner.

• Experience using INX Camp Management or similar system would be beneficial.

• Possess excellent problem-solving skills, be proactive and have customer services oriented mindset.

• Adaptable to change, ability to set up new processes and procedures to make the camp services

function more effectively.

• Prior experience on a rotational schedule at a remote work location would be beneficial.

Work Location and Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy. There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
