We are seeking a motivated Junior IT Administrator to manage and support our infrastructure, which includes both on-premises and cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of Windows Server, Azure IaaS, Active Directory, and security best practices. This role will be critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems, as well as assisting in day-to-day IT operations, troubleshooting, and support tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage Windows Server (20192025) environments, including roles/features (DNS, DHCP, file/print, etc.), patch management, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage on-premises Active Directory domain controller tasks such as user/group management and Microsoft Intune policy configuration.
  • Support hybrid identity solutions using Entra (Azure AD) and Entra Domain Services, including Azure AD Connect, syncing users and passwords, and group management.
  • Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) fundamentals and basic replication management.
  • Configure and manage FortiGate and Cisco Meraki firewalls, including NAT, VPN setup, and logging.
  • Troubleshoot site-to-site VPN connectivity between the head office and Azure-based resources, with knowledge of IPsec.
  • Support LAN/WAN configurations, including VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, and bandwidth management.
  • Utilize Windows Defender (AV) and EDR/MDR platforms for threat hunting, alert triage, and remediation.
  • Manage CLI tasks within Windows and Azure environments, including using Azure CLI and PowerShell modules for Azure.
  • Set up monitoring tools and alerts for server health, CPU/memory usage, and network availability (e.g., Azure Monitor).

Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows 10/11, with experience in end-user support.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of Windows Server (2019-2025) and Azure IaaS.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and hybrid identity management, including Azure AD and Entra Domain Services.
  • Experience with firewall configuration (FortiGate/Meraki) and site-to-site VPNs.
  • Security-focused mindset, including familiarity with EDR/MDR platforms, SIEM, and best practices for endpoint protection.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell or similar scripting languages to automate IT tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of system monitoring and backup/restore processes for cloud and on-prem systems.
