Job Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction and supervision of the General Manager.
  • Oversee inventory and supply chain management according to company guidelines.
  • Develop the inventory management strategy of the company with the goal of controlling costs within budget, generating savings, rationalizing inventory, and maximizing working capital.
  • Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct number of items are in stock.
  • Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts.
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
  • Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures in order to maximize efficiency and cut operations costs.
  • Review shop schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Track rates of accuracy, purchase and return, as well as defective items to inform quality control decisions.
  • Prepare, generate, and file financial inventory reports, review reports monthly with management.
  • Nurture positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Create and manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution processes and procedures, and confirm staff compliance.
  • Conduct physical counts of products and reconcile with data to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Develop and monitor procedures for the safety and security of the warehouse environment and all goods.
  • Oversee all warehouse employees, including creating priorities, providing coaching and mentoring, and issuing corrective action when required.
  • Work with engineering on sourcing items for new projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure alignment on inventory needs and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in inventory and supply chain management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., safety, environmental).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Journeyman parts certification.
  • Previous management experience in a Purchasing/Inventory Control position.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safely according to company protocol.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office/Microsoft Dynamics/Sales Pad is an asset.
  • Physical stamina to work long hours on one's feet and lift 50+ pounds.
  • Excellent organization and efficient time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including weekends or holidays during peak seasons.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional growth through opportunities for training and certification in inventory management or supply chain practices.
  • Performance Metrics: Responsible for key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover rates, order accuracy rates, and cost savings achieved.
Working Conditions
This position is at the PHQ Global Inc Location. The working conditions include:
  • 40 hours per week, up to a maximum of 44 hours.
  • All banked or overtime must be approved in writing in advance by the direct supervisor or manager.
  • Position will be required to comply with customer's Safety, Drug, and Alcohol policies while on site.
  • The position is located at C-2 1175 Appleby Line, Burlington, ON, L7L 5H9 and may require moderate travel to suppliers.
