Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Plan, design, and engineer fire sprinkler systems based on project requirements and adherence to NFPA codes.
- Evaluate project specifications and coordinate system designs with architects, supply/fab and contractors.
- Monitor the project progress, maintain schedules, and manage project budgets.
- Resolve design or installation issues and authorize changes, if required.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.
- Prepare documentation of project progression and completion.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
Job Authority:
- Make final decisions on the design and implementation of fire sprinkler systems.
- Monitor and control the project budget and resources.
- Hire, supervise and train team members as necessary.
- Negotiate with external parties such as suppliers and contractors.
- Approve changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- NICET II or above
- At least 5 years of experience in designing and producing fire protection systems for various application
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Revit applications
- Knowledge of relevant fire protection codes and standards such as NFPA, IBC, IRC, IFC, and local codes
- Ability to effectively coordinate with other professionals and stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
