Role Description:

This is a full-time role for an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper at Mine & Yours Luxury Resale Ltd. Youll get to work in the exciting industry of luxury and sustainable fashion and use your skills and expertise to play a crucial role in helping to grow the finance department!

Location:
The successful candidate will be trained in our office in Kitsilano, Vancouver or Yorkville, Toronto to leverage in-person interactions for strategic, collaborative, training, and social purposes. Afterwards, open to hybrid/remote.

What You'll Do:

  • Month-End Close: Responsible for completing the month-end close process to provide timely and accurate reporting by maintaining the accounting general ledger and executing journal entries, accruals and other adjustments as required.
  • Reconciliations: execution and management of accounts payable (AP), bank and credit card reconciliations, and e-Commerce payments reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly Financial Statements by department for the Executive team and Management for review. Support in investigating and performing financial analysis to provide actionable insights, recommendations and opportunities.
  • Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Assist the Controller in monthly budget preparation and building quarterly presentation decks. Uphold adherence to budgets and company policies and ensure the Management team have timely information on costs and expenses as needed.
  • Maintain financial schedules, reports, and systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficiency. Support updating & documenting standard operating procedures and policies to ensure compliance and consistency across the company.
  • Address accounting-related questions and handle ad-hoc requests from other departments and external consultants including, income taxes, GST/HST/PST, payroll, benefits and etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Finance or relevant field).
  • 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • CPA designation would be considered an asset
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online Advance, Shopify, and Plooto will be considered highly.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and analyze data from different sources and ERP & SaaS systems
  • Understanding of e-commerce accounting, consignment and gift card accounting treatment
  • Adaptable and analytical problem solver with attention to detail and passion for improving processes and efficiencies
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with other departments to drive results, assume responsibility for deliverables, and work effectively within deadlines.
