The Engineering Intern is a full-time term role working in either our technology, product, or analytics and delivery organizations. In this role, you will be a key contributor to supporting the software development, technology architecture and cyber security, or data science and solution consulting teams.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Completed their 3rd year + in an accredited university or college engineering program (software, engineering science, electrical, mechanical, chemical, or other)
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or D3.js).
- Understanding of data analytics concepts (e.g., descriptive and predictive analytics).
- Proficiency in statistical tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
- Experience with SQL for querying databases.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake).
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities:
- Ability to translate business requirements into actionable analytics solutions.
- Strong critical thinking and data interpretation skills.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Ability to present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort in working cross-functionally with different teams.

Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in analyzing energy and utility asset data using statistical methods and tools.
- Create detailed reports and dashboards to help clients monitor and maintain their assets effectively.
- Visualize data insights using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, GIS systems, or similar platforms.
- Client Implementation Support:
- Support the implementation of ENGIN for new clients by configuring the platform to meet their specific needs.
- Assist in gathering and understanding client requirements for effective solution delivery.
- Conduct data validation, transformation, and migration tasks as part of the implementation process.
- Process Automation and Optimization:
- Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for automating data processing and reporting workflows.
- Help design and implement tools or scripts to improve operational efficiency.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Participate in the testing of analytics features and dashboards to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Validate data integrity and troubleshoot discrepancies during implementation.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development and technical sales, to ensure client success.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Documentation:
- Assist in documenting implementation processes, analytics models, and data workflows for future use.
- Maintain detailed records of client-specific configurations and customizations.
- Learning and Development:
- Gain hands-on experience in data analytics, visualization tools, and energy systems technology.
- Learn about best practices in implementation methodologies and client relationship management.
- Support for Continuous Improvement:
- Gather client feedback and propose enhancements to the analytics and implementation processes.
- Contribute to refining the ENGIN platforms features and analytics capabilities based on client use cases.
Information Security Responsibilities:
- Adhering to policies that govern acceptable use of organizational systems.
- Using the organization-provided IT resources for defined purposes only.
- Reporting anomalies or suspicious system behaviour.
- Submitting and justifying system change requests to the information owner/system owner or through the organizations formal configuration management process.
