Position Summary:
The Senior Regulatory & Compliance Engineer is responsible for managing product compliance with international regulatory and legal requirements. The role ensures that Delta-Q products comply with safety, EMI/EMC, energy efficiency, and environmental regulations.
Specific Duties:
- Evaluate global regulatory changes and their impact on products, shaping engineering and product technology accordingly.
- Manage budget, project schedules and tasks.
- Define compliance requirements for product designs and testing, and provide guidance on global regulatory standards at all stages of the product life cycle.
- Coordinate product approvals with external agencies and distribute compliance certifications and reports.
- Liaise with external test houses and third party agencies (UL, CSA, Intertek). Notify the appropriate body on testing and compliance topics.
- Manage product design programs as the SME, resolving compliance findings and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Ensure product changes meet regulatory approvals.
- Manage and maintain a global database and train product design teams on regulatory/compliance standards and their requirements.
- Oversee and track product recertification activities, the creation of compliance reports, and internal testing for compliance safety and liability.
- Manage environmental compliance, submissions, and energy efficiency certifications (CEC, DOE, NRCan).
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Relevant education in an Engineering discipline preferably in electrical or electronics.
- Minimum 8 years experience in regulatory safety, EMC, and environmental compliance fields.
- Working knowledge and direct experience with various country approvals, regulatory marks, and homologation processes. This includes NA (UL, CSA) EU (B), AU/ANZ (RCM), Japan (PSE), Korea (KC), etc.
- In-depth knowledge and direct experience of global compliance frameworks (RoHS, REACH, SCIP, TSCA, PFAS, California prop 65, Conflict Minerals and other)
- Proven ability to complete regulatory reports and provide timely, written correspondence to internal and external customers including regulatory bodies.
- Must possess strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage their time for completion of tasks across independent projects or program deliverables, while effectively balancing priorities.
- Strong desire to work within a collaborative, productive, and empowered cross-functional team.

The following will be considered additional assets:
- Experience in specialized/PLM software such as Arena.
- Familiarity with the use of electrical test equipment, calibration, and maintenance practices.
- Experience with quality management systems including ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
- Experience in environmental compliance reporting systems (Assent, Green Point).
- Experience with battery charger energy efficiency regulations, testing, and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret regulatory EMC standards.
Benefits
Base Salary: $110,000 - $124,000 per year plus bonus.
The compensation offered will be determined by experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
