Responsibilities
- Help lead snow/landscape maintenance teams, and direct crew members in de-icing/snow removal tasks as well as lawn and landscape tasks in summer season.
- Provide quality control through site visits and report back to Operations Manager
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure it operates safely and effectively.
- Ensure that all in field operations activities are conducted safely, including the proper use of safety gear and equipment.
- Coordinate with other supervisors, property owners, or managers to provide updates on site progress and any problems that may arise.
- When directed apply salt or other de-icing agents to surfaces to prevent ice formation and improve safety as well as other duties pertaining lawn and landscape operations.
- Knowledge of safe operation of heavy machinery such as snowplows, front-end loaders, or snowblowers, zero turn mowers, line trimmers etc.
- Provide ongoing training for in field staff in the use of heavy equipment, truck/trailer, zero turn mowers and handheld units
- Schedule staff within your area, approve timesheets and conduct interviews.
- Knowledge and proficient with software systems (we are paperless). Excel, Aspire, LMN etc.
- Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as heavy snowfall during the night, to ensure safety and accessibility.
- 24/7 - on call position for the winter season (Dec - Mar)
Qualifications
- Min 3-years experience with heavy equipment in a snow removal environment
- MUST have a clean and valid drivers license
- Must possess a cellphone with data
- From November April, must be available on short notice and on-call depending on weather conditions and storms
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Familiarity with heavy equipment (wheel loaders, skid steers, heavy plow trucks)
- Proficiency in operating snow removal equipment safely
- Experience being a supervisor and managing a team
- Good customer service skills are essential to handle inquiries and requests professionally.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliability and the ability to respond to emergencies or work during irregular hours, such as nights and weekends, may be required.
