We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Human Resources Manager to join the Good Shepherd team! How You Will Make an Impact

  • Fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture by bridging management and employee relations, addressing grievances, and ensuring a strong employee relations program.
  • Supporting organizational development and effectiveness by recommending and implementing new policies, procedures, and initiatives that enhance productivity, development, and HR best practices
  • Provide leadership and strategic support in key HR areas, including team building, conflict resolution, performance management, progressive discipline, recruitment, compensation, employee development, and disability management.
  • Lead recruitment efforts and onboarding initiatives, managing new employee information and developing comprehensive training programs for onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Support organizational success by developing and implementing strategies that engage, motivate, and retain talent while overseeing a robust performance appraisal system.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining a competitive compensation and benefits program tailored to the needs of respective client groups.Report to management and provide decision support through HR reports and metrics.
  • Oversee and manage a training and development program to educate coworkes about staff tools, policies, and procedures as required.
  • Work closely with various departments, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
  • Will act as a central communication hub for staff and service users, ensuring efficient information flow.
  • Responsibilities also include respecting confidentiality and positively representing Good Shepherd and its services.
  • Ensure adherence to established rules, procedures, policies, and code of conduct, along with work scheduling and attendance policies.
  • Involve in continuous quality improvement projects, integrate our mission and values into all employment systems, and stay updated with trends in human resources. You will also handle health and safety programs, manage WSIB claims, and lead health and safety training initiatives.
  • Support colleagues and cross train as required.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Post secondary in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR roles, ideally including leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment legislation, and industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the culture, values and best practices of the program and Good Shepherd
  • Valid Driver's license is required

  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and understanding of an employer's responsibility under current legislation
