As we continue to scale, we are seeking to expand our team with a Senior Manager, Risk Management Brokerage.

Role Overview

Moomoo Canada is looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Manager, Risk Management from the Brokerage industry to join our growing team. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting fintech company that blends both traditional brokerage operations and cutting-edge technology.

The Senior Manager, Risk Management Brokerage is responsible for overseeing the organization's risk management function, providing strategic direction, and ensuring adequate oversite and tools are in place to monitor client positions and compliance with the Canadian regulatory requirements.. This role involves developing and implementing risk frameworks for a mid-sized discount broker including policies, standards, and procedures to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks. The role also serves as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, managing responses to audits, examinations, and compliance reviews. Additionally, the incumbent will drive research, development, and implementation of innovative processes, technologies, and operational models to enhance risk management capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Put in tools, frameworks, and management practices to oversee the risk components of a mid-sized discount broker, bringing global best practices already in place at the company but into the Canadian marketplace
  • Oversee the function of enterprise Risk management Program
  • Provide strategic direction on a diverse range of Risk program activities
  • Develop Risk enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, standards, procedures.
  • Work with executive team, senior business management/ partners to develop proactive strategies, tactics, policies and programs to effectively manage regulatory/ compliance issues
  • Lead role in managing and in responding to periodic exams/ audits and various regulatory bodies
  • Oversee and lead a large and/or highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results
  • Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
  • Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices
  • Pro-actively identify market issues, portfolio risk, client positing and pro-actively putting in plans to close gaps.
  • Maintain a current understanding of the Moomoo trading environment and order routing of all order types in Canada and US.

Requirements

Education/Qualifications

  • Business / Finance degree or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook, Derivatives Fundamentals and Options Licensing Course.

Experience

  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Prior experience and deep knowledge of brokerage, and investment industry
  • People manager with a track record of developing talent

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of retail markets and brokerage products including equity and options
  • Detailed knowledge of CIRO margin rules relating to equity and options.
  • Knowledge on Designing and Implementing retail brokerage risk management frameworks

  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving capability.
