Account Manager/Project Manager, Agribusiness & International Trade

The Account Manager, Agribusiness & International Trade, will support multiple projects and clients in the food, drink, and agriculture sector. The role supports a small team focused on providing education, business development, marketing and promotion, and market entry consulting services to both domestic and international organizations operating in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting project management for client programs, including regular meetings, document management and invoicing support
  • Supporting trade programs for clients; including planning, material development, outreach, and execution
  • Managing logistics of client activities and events; work within budgets and timelines
  • Liaising with clients and partners on project updates
  • Providing on-site support for client activities, trade missions, and trade shows, as required
  • Leading program reporting and evaluation; write detailed activity reports, program reports, and research reports
  • Conducting trade research to develop informational and market assessment reports for clients
  • Participating in trade consultations for international companies interested in entering the Canadian market
  • Assisting with the development of strategic and tactical proposals for the client
  • Supporting the management of trade relationships across multiple agribusiness related sectors
  • Providing trade consultation for international companies interested in the Canadian market
  • Attending trade shows and industry events
  • Maintaining and managing vendor and partner relationships
  • Supporting new business development

Qualifications:

Must have:

  • 4-6 years of experience working on projects and/or in the Canadian trade, food, drink, and agriculture sectors.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian grocery retail and food service trade landscape.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management capabilities.
  • Experience working with government organizations and/or trade development bodies
  • Event management and/or organization of events
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent writing skills, initiative, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • A passion for going the extra mile to get great results for every client.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, organized, and attentive to detail.

Good to have:

  • A degree in commerce, international business, marketing communications, or business communications.
  • Understanding of Canadian food and agribusiness import related regulations.
  • Experience with digital and/or social media marketing and influencer relations
  • Creativity and a positive energy.
  • Team spirit and a great attitude.

Unique Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel across Canada and the USA.
  • Availability to occasionally work after regular business hours and on weekends for travel and client events
  • Ability to understand and comply with complex activity reporting requirements and contractual obligations.
