Job Overview
The role of an Architectural Designer / Technologist is a full-time position in the company and will involve collaborating with the Architecture Project Lead and Interior Design and Construction teams to bring projects from concept through to construction. As a full-service architecture, interior design, and construction studio, we are looking to bring on a professional who is a self-starter and organized to carry out the duties below. This position will offer the opportunity to collaborate with our internal design team and to work with some of the most successful and affluent homeowners and business people across Canada.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Architecture
- Has or intends on obtaining licensing an as Architect with the OAA
- 5+ years of experience in architectural design and the production of architectural drawings from Schematic Design through to Construction Administration
- Very high level of skill with Revit is mandatory
- Experience in multi-unit mid-rise / high-rise residential and luxury houses required. Experience in other building types and interiors an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws
- Experience producing high-quality technical drawings, construction documents, specifications, and 3D models
- Strong understanding of building science and detailing
- Strong knowledge of building systems and construction methods
- Familiarity with the planning and approval application process
- Excellent understanding of the language of Classical Architecture and of Audaxs design philosophy of Human Architecture
- Hand drawing skills
- Experience in the production of high-quality computer renderings and presentation materials
Key Responsibilities
- Set up client files and organize Revit models to ensure smooth project execution
- Prepare design, tender, and permit drawings, adhering to office drawing standards and project specifications
- Create presentations, AI designs, and high-quality illustrations and renderings
- Develop mood and sample boards
- Source products and materials
- Capture site photos and upload them to the server for documentation and project tracking
- Produce drawings in accordance with office standards and maintain consistent project documentation
- Organize and maintain the sample library
- Assist in client meeting preparation by ensuring all required documents (physical and electronic) are prepared and organized
- Create and manage material schedules
- Maintain organized project files and documentation, both physical and digital, throughout all project phases
- Serve as an advocate for Human Architecture and embody the Audax mission statement in all facets of work
- Promote core values of teamwork, quality design, professionalism and high client service
